Helen Day

Helen Day

I moved up to Cambridge in March 2005 from South London and have 2 young daughters, Alice and Amelie.

For 12 years, I worked as a PR Manager for a number of well-known law firms in London and the regions. In 2005, however, I decided to have a complete career change, follow my love of swimming, and become a swimming teacher.  I swam competitively for Bishops Stortford Swimming Club as a child and still attend a weekly swimming endurance session at a local swimming pool, where we often swim 120 lengths in the hour session!  I love passing on my knowledge to the children and seeing them progress so dramatically throughout the term.

I currenly teach swimming 6 hours a week spread out over 3 sessions,  I teach for Seals, at the Grove Swimming Pool, on Saturday mornings from 8.30 a.m. until 10 a.m.  During my spare time, I am a volunteer helper at my daughters' local school, where I help out in Year 1.

I feel lucky to have such an enjoyable and rewarding job and have no regrets about leaving the office job behind.
